Funded sales that never quite settled

14 July 2026 · Lim Wei Jun

A POS finance module can tell a store it has a sale while the funder has a pending application, a reversed capture, or a chargeback. The till report looks healthy. The bank file does not. Finance notices when the month is already closed.

We take a defined window—often one or two funding cycles—and match ticket identifiers to merchant funding lines. Voids after approval, incomplete captures, and clawbacks are listed as reconciling items with the original store and cashier shift where we can still see them.

This is not a payment run and not a collections exercise. It is a reconciliation narrative: what the store believed it sold on finance, what arrived, and what remains unexplained. The unexplained list is usually short and specific. That is enough to change how the next month is booked.

If your ledger treats till approval as cash-equivalent, this engagement is the one to request first after a control walkthrough.
