Retail finance products in Malaysia often carry a headline rate, a processing fee, and sometimes stamp or documentation charges. The product sheet lives with marketing and compliance. The till lives with a rate table last updated for a festive campaign. Those two documents can disagree for months without anyone noticing, because each ticket still looks internally consistent.
We rebuild a sample by hand: ticket size, tenor, advertised rate, listed fees. Then we place the till printout beside the rebuild. Differences cluster. Rounding on the last instalment. A campaign code that never expired. A fee that stacks when the sheet says it is waived for staff purchases.
The working paper is a mismatch log, not a debate about whose spreadsheet is prettier. Each line names the field, the two figures, and whether the customer copy or the merchant funding file followed the till. Finance can then decide whether to correct the table, the sheet, or both.
Informational pricing for this review starts from the sample size, not from a software licence. We do not sell a calculator product. We sell the comparison.
